Govenor Gregoire to Speak at UWT Commencement
We’ve been waiting for the official announcement for a couple weeks now …
Gov. Chris Gregoire will deliver the commencement speech for the University of Washington Tacoma’s graduating class of 2009.
It’s not Defense Secretary Robert Gates, but we’re always happy to see the Gov here in Tacoma.

I’m not happy to see her and her $9,500,000,000 in-the-hole budget here in Tacoma. She’s not welcome here.
Skip T-Town… She can go to Seattle and brag about the glories of the multi-billion dollar deep bore money pit they’ll be digging.

Pierce County is a swing county for the Guv. But the love glove holding the money is up north. Seattle gets the tunnel, we’ll just have to wait to get railed to Sea-Tac, I guess.
Still, I’d rather have her visiting as Gov than that Rossi guy.
I read that the rail system between Eugene and Vancouver was going to be revamped with federal money, then in a nightmarish moment I thought they’d just skip the stop in Tacoma. It was a chilling moment somewhat grounded in reality.
Where’s the voice of Dicks in this conversation?

Or better yet, what’s the word from Anderson, isn’t she on the board? How are all those visitors for the US Open in 2015 going to get to U.P. from those Seattle hotels?

Norm Dicks… been in office as long as the average age of his constituents. Another one that shoulda been mothballed a decade ago. But I digress.
Why doesn’t Gregoire open that checkbook a little more and squeeze a million or ten to build some hotels in T-Town for the 2015 US Open? It would be a PR goldmine.
