Grandfields Update

We posted about Grandfields closing earlier this week.

From what we now hear, the lot with the little log cabin is going to become condos.  Does anybody know if there’s a builder picked already?  Can we get a little more mixed use development in this area?  How about some more first floor retail.  We’ve done a decent job at promoting condo development in this city.  Now, if we absolutely have to have more condos (this is debatable in some folks’ minds), maybe the vision should be refined a bit.  I can imagine development similar to what we started to see in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood in the 1990s.  Give all those condo dwellers a reason to walk their own sidewalks.
