Green Drinks Comes Again

We’ve been told that last month’s Green Drinks meeting was a smashing success. In case you missed it, it’s a monthly get together of people interested in the environment, conservation and sustainability. The gatherings are held at local bars or restaurants and, from what we hear, are a lot of fun. Next Thursday they are visiting Crown Bar. Think good thoughts. Drink good drinks. Save the world.

When & Where
Thursday, Dec. 6, 6-8 pm

They may want to choose a less expensive venue in the hopes of sustaining people’s pocketbooks, but it’s a great idea.

One of the more trenchant complaints about the environmental movement is that it tends toward the elitist, and having this event at a bar where beers can hit ten bucks doesn’t really dispel that. Take a page from Drinking Liberally, this belongs at real neighborhood bars. Let me know when the Red Hot hosts, then we’ll talk.

Show up between 5-6:30 and load up on a few $1.50 PBRs, then you’ll be ripe for a deep and intellectual conversation on how to best save the planet!

I think there needs to a partner breakfast discussion group called GREEN eggs and ham.

This will be the 3rd meeting! The first 2 we’re at the Spar. Maybe the 4th will be at Red Hots so we’ll have the opportunity to meet Frinklin.

I’m about as cheap as they come but the Crown Bar is not over priced. I’d recommend that all of our fine readers check out the fairly new Crown Bar, you’ll swear it has been there for years. Good food, good drink and a great occasion to spend a part of an evening. More to the point, Jacqueline and Charlie of the Crown Bar and the Primo Grill are very generous to a good many causes in our community.

Crenshaw, I’m not saying it’s overpriced, I’m just saying it’s not exactly an inexpensive evening out.

Primo is my favorite restaurant in town, but my experience at Crown Bar hasn’t been great – just as expensive as Primo without the bang for your buck.

Crenshaw, By the way, “…our fine readers…”?

Maybe Jacqueline and Charlie will extend the happy hour pricing for the Green Drinks event. One could hope. It would allow Crown Bar to showcase itself to possibly a new audience.
