The ad is asking $1100 a 1 bedroom apartment. Their 1 bedroom units range from 854 to 1039 square feet. Seems comparable to the neighborhood.

When I was a single Army captain, my housing allowance was about $1200 per month. Married folks get about $1500 monthly. Clearly, Jake’s friends were either splitting the bill, were very high-ranking officers or were government contractors (who very well may get $3000 per month for housing). Just wanted to set that straight before any taxpayers cry foul over fraud, waste and abuse.

Sorry the friend was in the reserves from a different part of the country on voluntary full-time duty up here. They were actually on a daily housing allowance.

Hmmm. Assuming it requires a year lease, that works out to an average of (11 × 1100)/12 = $1008.33 per month. Looks like it may be getting into bargain territory.
