Healthy Kids & Green Parenting Fair
Any parent will tell you there’s nothing more important than a child’s safety. Especially these days, when the little buggers are going to have to start pulling their weight sooner rather than later. Er, not that we condone that…
Anyway, if you’re concerned about the safety of your child’s environment, the Healthy Kids & Green Parenting Fair is here to put you mind at ease. On Sat., Nov. 1, from 10am to 3pm at the South Park Community Center, children and pregnant or nursing mothers can receive free blood lead testing, toys can be checked for lead, and there will be a whole truckload (biodiesel-fueled, of course) of information on eco-friendly parenting practices. Learn about everything from cloth diapers to local green businesses.
Admittance is free, and the first 150 kids to show up get a batch of eco-friendly art supplies. So at least you’ll know those finger-paintings will decompose when you take them off the fridge.
