Health and Farm Workers at UWT

UWT is hosting an interesting sounding lecture on Wednesday, April 16. Vickie Ybarra is a nationally recognized health expert on health equity. The lecture will be at 3:15 p.m. in the Cherry Parkes Building, Room 105.

According to the press release:

Ybarra is director of planning and development for the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic, one of the largest community and migrant health care systems in the country, and chair of the Governor’s Interagency Council on Health Disparities. A graduate of the University of Washington School of Nursing, she has extensive experience in developing, overseeing and evaluating community programs serving low-income and other vulnerable populations. She will speak about “Health Equity and Leadership Opportunities in Community Context.”

Local context from a national speaker? Sounds good to us.
