Heath Ledger Dead at 28

Actor Heath Ledger was found dead in his New York apartment today. He was 28 years old.

Ledger got his break in the 1999 movie 10 Things I Hate About You, which was filmed at Stadium High School and all around Tacoma. The only reason we watched this movie was to see our neighborhood on the big screen. And, our neighborhoods looked good.

    HEATH LEDGER?

    Drug Overdose?

We had no warning… I’ve been on Britney-watch and Amy Winehouse-watch for some time. But I had no idea Heath was about to quit us.

    Sassy:

Sounds like that was the only thing he COULD quit.

That’s very sad, he was very young.

After re-reading my comment, I realize it may look like I’m making light of his death. I hope to do nothing of the sort, so let me rephrase it:

    Drugs = bad
    Heath Ledger = not bad

    Shame, really.

When I first saw this on the internet today…I just sat there in shock. It’s just a shame…plain and simple. He was actually talented and wasn’t going around showing us his private parts or abducting his own children or doing crack on YouTube. One more young talent…gone.

This is very upsetting and shocking. He was an incredibly talented actor and I’m saddened by his death and the fact that he will not live to see his daughter grow up.

    A terrible shame.

I’m simply stunned. I heard this a few hours ago but thought it was a sick joke. I’ve been a fan of his since “10 Things”. What a sad end to an incredible talent.

10 Things I Hate About You was on TV like two days ago. (As it is about once a week and I always watch it whenever I catch it.) It’s a good movie! Batman (and his other movie he was filming if ever released) will sure be bittersweet. He was a great actor and will be missed. So sad.

Last night at the editorial meeting – you call it dinner – we were wondering when some one would mention this as it’s one of the editorial staff’s favorite movies.

I’d never even heard of him until yesterday… guess I’m getting old!

I totally love 10 Things I Hate About You, even though Mr. Ledger’s hair was totally weird in it. I love looking for people I know in the crowd scenes, it’s like “Wheres Waldo” but with kids from High School.

    Who cares?

Jake @4: that was hard to watch.
