Hello South King County

Just as Exit133 starts to get interesting, we’ve off and done something that could jeopardize its future – we’ve moved to Kent.  Our Tacoma house was nice.  Built in 1888 with lots of character in a neighborhood full of charming older homes.  The downside is that it’s an old home.  First it was the electrical panel.  Then we needed a roof.  I wanted to add a mud-room addition.  So, instead of adding on and adding on, we decided to buy a townhouse in one of Kent’s new housing developments along the Green River.  With its easy access to bike trails, the new Kent Station, and SouthCenter mall just up the street it seemed like the right thing to do.  Plus, the roof is new.  The grass is real grass and not just moss.  The sidewalks haven’t buckled.  For that matter, I don’t have any huge old trees to worry about.  I do miss the Parkway, but there are plenty of sports bars around here.

So far we have boxes everywhere.  Now comes the fun part – moving in.

I’ve already found some interesting history here.

Mmm… KentDesMoines.com isn’t taken yet.
