Historic Preservation Money in Pierce County
Recently Todd Matthews wrote a feature piece for Exit133 and the Daily Index on the state of historic preservation in Pierce County. Which made us take note when we saw an email show up about the availability of grant money for historic preservation in Pierce County.
From the email:
Pierce County announces the availability of the Pierce County Historic Preservation Grant in the total amount of $200,000, made available through County Council appropriation. Grant requests for a minimum of $2,000 to a maximum of $25,000 can be made with historic preservation or history-related project proposals. Matching funds are to be provided by the applicant. Applications will be accepted starting May 1, 2008 until 4:30 p.m., July 7, 2008. Grant project activities must take place in Pierce County and completed by September 15, 2009 to qualify. Owners of historic property, nonprofit organizations, and public agencies are eligible to apply.
Exciting news for Pierce County preservationists.
