Historic Tacoma - Join Us

The first official public meeting for Historic Tacoma is just a few days away.  We’ll be there.  Will you?  Rec’d via email:

Tacoma retains many historic buildings which reflect the city’s unique character and cultural heritage. The preservation of these structures adds to the city’s vitality and their rehabilitation has been shown to act as an economic development catalyst. As property values escalate and Tacoma continues to grow, we risk losing significant structures. By proactively advocating for, and preserving historic structures, Historic Tacoma can support the rehabilitation of deteriorated buildings and the adaptive re-use of structures which no longer meet current needs.

WHO:
You! and Historic Tacoma

WHEN:
Thursday, July 20th, 5:30-7:30pm

WHERE:
Tacoma Public Library, Olympic Room
1102 Tacoma Ave South.

You are invited to take part in the formation of a new organization, Historic Tacoma. We will be holding a public meeting to discuss the state of preservation in Tacoma and how we might sustain an effort to advocate for, educate about, and preserve the city’s architectural heritage. Your participation is essential for this effort to succeed. We need to identify community needs, successful methods, gauge the level of support, and identify potential board members, volunteers, members, and projects.
