This year the annual Tree Lighting at the Pantages will have an extra element to kick off the holiday season: A showing of Scrooge.
From the Broadway Center:
Prior to and after the Tree Lighting ceremony, the Broadway Center will present the 1970 classic holiday film, starring Albert Finney, Scrooge: The Movie Musical at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door for $8. The Holiday Tree Lighting is a free community event. In efforts to document historical events at the corner of 9th & Broadway, a community group photo will be taken at the Annual Tree Lighting Event. Also, a guest appearance will be made by Santa Claus in the Pantages Lobby beginning at 4:30 p.m. Complimentary hot cocoa and cider will be provided by the Broadway Center.
Sounds like a great way to kick off the holiday season.

Maybe the tree growing out of the Luzon Building will be decorated this year, that is pretty close to Tolfeson Plaza.
