Hollander Reveals Plans for Foss Site 4

The TNT reported yesterday on the latest plans for the Foss Site 4 site along the Thea Foss. Bellingham based Hollander Investments revealed plans for two hotels and an office building in the space between the Esplanade and Thea’s Landing. We’ve been writing about a potential hotel on this site for several years. Now, with Hollander, the company that built the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Tacoma, maybe there’s cash and financing around to make it happen. This is just the beginning of a long process of planning and development. Will it go anywhere?

This is fantastic news, but I have to say after getting our collective hopes up so many times, I’m going to defer my excitement until I see a shovel in some dirt.

I’ll believe it when I see the crane.

    What about the NCC-1702 Kalakala?

    Where will that be stardocked?

Another developer with plans for the Foss. I wonder how long it took Baltimore and other cities to redevelop their waterfront? Surely quicker than Tacoma. Plus not all of the waterfront development in Baltimore is apartments or hotels/condos.

I am betting the developer will be coming to the Tacoma City Council with his hands out wanting money from the City (do I say HUD money?)

City of Tacoma and University Place have something in common…they can’t find developers to finish projects
