How Long Is Your Commute?

Here’s a fun little tool to play around with, once you’ve completed your morning commute: American Public Media’s Marketplace has a tool that shows the average commute time by zipcode.

Type in your zipcode, or just scroll around the map to see how your neighborhood compares to nearby zipcodes, or other parts of the country. Our unscientific analysis of our surrounding Tacoma neighborhoods show commute times between 24 and 26 minutes. According to Marketplace, the average commute time in the US is about 30 minutes.
