Ice Cream Social to Open on 6th Ave

Tacoma's own Ice Cream Social is opening its very first storefront location on 6th - (at 2914 6th Avenue, next door to The Red Hot) where it will sell its small batch, made from scratch ice cream.

The Ice Cream Social line-up of flavors (many ingredients locally-sourced) currently listed on their website is pretty mouth-watering, with "everyday flavors" including not only dark chocolate and vanilla bean, but also salted caramel, Valhalla coffee, and a vegan coconut milk option. There's also a pretty inspired rotating list of flavors that includes Mad Hat earl grey, fresh fig, salted caramel with candied bacon, and more.

The Ice Cream Social cafe, which will sell its tasty treats by the cone, the cup, or the pint (and more options to come), plans to open sometime in June, according to The News Tribune, Until then you can find Ice Cream Social flavors at the Broadway Farmers' Market on Thursdays, and the Proctor Farmers' Market on Sundays Saturdays, and at a few local restaurants.

Ice cream, hot dogs, and beer all in one building? When The Red Hot moves one door down, what will go in between the two?

    This is fantastic news! Their ice cream is so good, now it will be a lot easier to pick up a pint for home.

    This says the Proctor Farmers Market is on Sundays but it's actually on Saturdays...

    That is great news. I have been wishing for just such a shop in Tacoma ever since I moved here. I think Ice Cream Social will do great business. In answer to the question about what else could go in with Red Hot and Ice Cream Social: I would love to see a bakery that sells BREAD!
