Kick off March Madness with Project:U
So maybe hangin’ at Cutter’s Point and joining a conversation/debate isn’t what you’re into when there’s basketball games to be watched. If so, help a good cause and head to Varsity Grill. Project-U, an offshoot of the United Way of Pierce County, has partnered with Varsity Grill to bring you the Kickoff to March Madness. Thursday, March 1st from 5:00 to 9:00, 10% of food sales and 100% of specialty drink sales between 5 & 9pm go to United Way. On the televisions – UW vs. USC, WSU vs. UCLA. Drink beer and watch basketball for a good cause. Go Huskies!

They are also taking reservations for parties of 75-120 in their downstairs event space, which will be finished soon. Yes, downstairs – the old Stadium Bistro space
Glad to see this prime spot being utilized. Also looking forward to the adjacent coffee shop that is suppose to open up.

Thanks for the mention. Hope everyone has a chance to stop by Thursday and take a look at our new space. It will actually be named “Hub Gallery & Events” as opposed to The Sidecar. It will have contemporary art from local artists. I will own/manage the gallery and have the first exhibition of my photography and manipulated images. Pat Nagle and Carole Holder will run the special events space.

Bell Capt., Cheney Stadium days? Do tell. Not sure the best guidance going from boy to man is learned from baseball players but that was my route. In fact, one of my pieces in this show is “The Ballpark,” made for my Dad. The old facade of Cheney that you can no longer see. Sad.
Thank god those walls can’t talk however…..
