Kids - Grandpa's photos

I am in the process of building a huge gallery of photos from my grandfather’s collection. My first priority has been to move the negatives and slides into an archival storage system. I’ve documented any dates or other information from the paper sleeves and have created a systematic numbering system to note which images belong together. In the last two weeks I’ve moved more than 2100 negatives from meticulously wrapped tissue paper sleeves into binders.

This project will go on forever. I am about 70% done with box one, but I haven’t even begun scanning these in bulk yet. There are four more boxes in my house and several more that could end up in my house in the future.

I’ve scanned a few dozen negatives to use in building the gallery and the results have been amazing. I’ll share more later.

In the meantime I hope to get back onto a regular posting schedule again. This city has had a lot of interesting events occur that somehow have gone without comment here. I toured the city’s hip urban condos with a whole lot of hip empty nesters. I met Josie, the new ED of the Broadway Center, the other night. Hopefully, as I find a little balance, I’ll get back to writing a few things down and will begin reading my email again.

Check back again soon.
