King's Books Hosts Banned Film Night

King’s Books is hosting a banned film night on Friday, October 3rd, as part of their Banned Books Week celebration. They’ll be showing two films. One about censorship and one that was banned. Check it out and enjoy the show.

6:30 pm – Freaks (1932). Set in a sideshow, vain trapeze artist Cleopatra tries to seduce and dispatch dapper little person Hans when she finds out he is rich. Featuring many sideshow actors. The film was so shocking at the time it was banned for over 30 years in the UK. 64 min.

7:45 pm – Fahrenheit 451 (1966). Based on the Ray Bradbury novel. Set in a dystopian future in which possessing books is a crime, fireman Guy Montag burns books until he begins to question the status quo. The only English language film directed by François Truffaut. 112 min.

NOTE: This is a date change from the original event announcement.
