Pumpkin Madness at the last Broadway Farmers' Market of 2011
There comes that moment when you have to accept that summer really is over for the year. It’s not when the leaves turn – that can still count as Indian summer. It’s not when the kids go back to school – there are still those days that are way too warm for new school clothes. It’s not even when the harvest beers start to appear in markets. The moment we truly resign ourselves to another however many months of winter is the day of the final farmers’ market. And it is upon us.
So take full advantage of today’s forecasted “mostly sunny” weather, and hit the final day of the Broadway Farmers’ Market. In recognition that the end of the season is near, they’ve proclaimed today “Pumpkin Madness,”, and will be celebrating with all things pumpkin. So bring a friend, bring your shopping bag, and definitely bring a coat, and head down to Broadway on your lunch break.
Visit the Farmers’ Market website for more information.
(P.S. The Proctor Farmers’ Market is still going on Saturdays through mid-December.)
