Launching 365 Days of Photos
Several weeks ago I asked photographers to send me their images of Tacoma. After getting wrapped up in a few completely unrelated projects, I’m now ready to start this one. 365 Days of Tacoma will run from February 1, 2006, to January 31, 2007. That’s the plan at least. We’ll see what happens as work gets busy, vacations happen, and people get bored with me.
The first photo I chose is my Holga shot of I-705 North from the Bridge of Glass. It’s grainy. It’s low tech. To me it’s directionally ambiguous. Where are we going? I have no idea.
Okay, I actually put up Michael Cole’s photo of graffiti on Sixth Avenue yesterday. I guess we’ll have 366 days this year.
My goal is to reveal different perspectives on this city. Keep sending the photos. I’m always looking for more.

The planning at WSDOT is going to depend on a census of bicyclists conducted by other bicyclists. That ought to be accurate. hahahaha

If I drive to the counting station instead of walking or riding my bike, will that help me count more accurately?

It doesn’t say you have to like bikes to volunteer – it looks like anyone could sign up, regardless of their views on transportation.
