LeMay Museum in the New York Times

The LeMay Museum’s groundbreaking has now been covered by the New York Times with a bit of background on the project.

In 1998, Mr. LeMay formed a nonprofit organization, the Harold E. LeMay Museum, to display the cars to the public. When he died in 2000, Mr. LeMay’s wife, Nancy, continued directing the development of the museum.

But changes in the design of the museum and fund-raising issues drew out development. Long negotiation with developers and state and local government have been required. The last milestone, the museum reported in its newsletter, was a vote in May by the City Council in Tacoma, Wash., approving the agreement with the museum.
