Let It Snow!
We woke up to a new dusting of snow with the potential of some more. Some schools are closed. Some folks are skipping work working from home. It just feels like a good day to bundle up, drink hot chocolate, watch snowflakes.
What are you doing today?

Today I made the drive in. Standard office day. But then again, I’m a Minnesota boy who honestly misses real winter with piles of snow 4ft deep at the curbs and the ker-phlump of hundreds of pairs of Sorel boots shuffling along the sidewalk.
Heck, in this weather, if I wasn’t working, I’d still be out in the Jeep honkin’ around the drifts looking for that pristine parking lot in which to spins a few holiday donuts.
Now if we can just get Ma Nature to oblige me with some measurable precipitation of the crystalline variety.

I remember my first snow storm here after moving from Minnesota. Working up in Seattle, living down here. A few flakes started floating down and my boss comes flying out of his office, gesticulating wildly (this was not unusual) and telling me that I better get moving home and quick. Of course I laughed and told him I didn’t think a few flakes were anything to worry about. After all, I grew up driving in the snow, took my drivers test in semi-blizzard conditions.
Twenty minutes later it was snowing hard, great big flakes. Boss comes out of office just shaking his head. “Dude, you’re already screwed. Good luck getting home.” Reluctantly I packed up and headed out. It took me half an hour to get 1 mile from UW campus down 45th to I-5 and three and a half hours total to get back here to Tacoma.
Suffice to say I no longer mess with driving in the snow here if I can avoid it.

Our city is just not equipped to handle snow plowing and we have the added ice sheets that freeze over the roadways.
I’m staying in a baking cookies.

I am implementing lessons learned from Getting Things Done by David Allen and am organizing my files! So exciting…

Well no snow for me today but hope springs eternal and with any luck I’ll get some fluffy flakes tomorrow. Hope the rest of you get home safe and sound.

I’m just glad it’s warmer today.
I work outdoors and the wind chill the last couple of days was horrible.

Now that’s some real snow coming down! The dogs are catching snowflakes. The deck has several inches of powder. I think this is a work from home day.
