Madera Hosts re-ART '08

This week, before hauling your recycling out to the curb, take a long look into that big blue bin. Why? Because you could be sending the building blocks of a masterpiece to be reconstituted as egg cartons.

Instead, you can enter your beer bottle Rodin in Gallery Madera’s re-ART ’08, a juried exhibition of art made from salvaged or recyclable materials. The show opens Oct. 16, with an artist’s reception Oct. 18 from 3 to 7pm. Submissions are due Sept. 20. Some proceeds from each sale will go to benefit the Tacoma Food Co-op and the Sierra Club (because we couldn’t have delicious local produce without the planet to provide it). The exhibition runs until Nov. 19.
