Make Yourself Heard - Creative Cities Survey
I’m sure most of you have heard that Richard Florida is coming back to town. Those 30 creative folks that are representing us in this exercise have homework to do – a lot of homework from what I hear – and they need our help. How can you help? Take part in discussions. Give feedback to one of the thirty people (you’ll find out who they are soon enough – I’m not saying…). Complete the survey linked at the bottom of this email. Help move Tacoma forward.

I am not sure whether or not you know that the Tacoma/Pierce County Chamber of Commerce has spearheaded a year-long commitment working with the Richard Florida Creativity Group to assist us in propelling Tacoma/Pierce County into the future through creative initiatives. Dr. Richard Florida is best known for his book “The Rise of the Creative Class” and this seminar will focus on the primary tenants of his book that there is a direct correlation in cities that have strength in the 3 ‘T’s.. Talent, Technology, and Tolerance.
The “Tacoma-Pierce Creative Cities Leadership Seminar (CCLS)” is being lead by Richard Florida and members of his Creativity Group Team who will be in Tacoma September 20-21 to launch the program and facilitate the work of thirty community members (of which I am one) to get to the core of our needs and best identify the initiatives necessary to make an impact.
This is where we need your input. Thirty people cannot possibly represent the needs and viewpoints of our whole community. It is our job to connect to as many people as we can to gain insight, views, and needs, necessary to gain the appropriate information that will result in effective action. Only through your input can we garner a broad picture of our community/region, it’s strengths, needs, growth potential, etc.. I am really excited for this opportunity. It is a chance to make a difference and I hope you will take the time to “put in your two cents (or more)”.
The poll is very short and shouldn’t take more than 5-10 minutes of your time to fill out and submit. The results will be calibrated and presented by Dr. Florida at the seminar without any names associated with it. No email addresses are collected in the polling process.
