Metro Parks Facing Staff Cuts

Metro Parks Tacoma is the latest organization to face cutbacks in our current economy. According to the News Tribune (an organization that knows about staff cuts), Metro Parks has offered buy-out packages to its employees. Parks’ revenue isn’t keeping up with expenses – particularly fuel and benefits costs. Employees have until November 7th to express an interest.

“Obviously every entity in these tough economic times is having to make changes. I think the buyouts offer an opportunity for both Metro Parks to benefit and employees to benefit, especially those that are at the end of their career. I think this offers a win-win situation,” Woodards said.

Win-win? Sure it is.
