Model Train Festival

For some reason model trains and Christmas seem to go together just like egg nog and rum. Maybe it’s because that’s when you got your first train set, or maybe you have fond memories of the train that used to run under Grandma’s Christmas tree. For whatever reason, it just seems fitting that the Annual Model Train Festival at the Washington State History Museum starts the day after Christmas.

The WSHM invites you to celebrate the season with the sights and sounds of model train displays that will transport you back to the days when the iron horse was king. There will be displays throughout the History Museum from local clubs, and the Puget Sound Model Railroad Engineers will be on hand to operate the largest permanent model railroad layout in the state.
