More Filming in Downtown Tacoma - Tomorrow
This memo just found its way to our inbox:
A film crew will shut down Commerce Street between S. 15th and S. 17th Streets on Friday, Nov. 21. The time frame the production coordinator has provided is 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. However, closure could occur as early as 1 p.m. During the closure, Pierce Transit will operate the Tacoma Link service using Pierce Transit buses.
No LINK? Now that’s serious! Does anybody know what’s being filmed this time?
Update
Here’s the word:
It’ll be a Toyota commercial. They’ll be shooting in front of the Convention Center on Friday. Then, on Sunday, they’ll be down at the 21st Street Bridge and the Museum of Glass.

How silly that officials would allow a major rail transit cooridor to be shut down during peak hours! I just hope the movie is worth it. It is a movie and not another car commercial, right?

They would have to have filed a permit, no? Who out there can look that thing up?

Emails sent. Phone calls made. No answers yet that can provide additional details.

Perhaps this foretells the possibility of a Toyota Lemay donation???

There’s the automobile industry, again, still trying to destroy mass transit in our cities.

I know I don’t watch much TV, but yet I never manage to see any commercials filmed here… like the last car commercial a few months back.

The commercials filmed here are shown in the Welsh, Lichtenstien and Bankok markets. They think Tacoma is exotic.
