More Foss Developments - Hearing Scheduled
Received via email:
The Foss Waterway Development Authority will choose from three finalists to purchase and develop a vacant site between the Albers Mill and the 21st Street Bridge on the Foss Waterway in Tacoma. The three candidates who have responded to a request for proposal for the site, referred to as Site 1 by the Authority, are Panattoni Development Co., Prium Companies and Thea Foss Holdings, said Sue Dowie, director of planning and operations for the Authority. Thea Foss Holdings is the development company that the Authority selected to develop nearby Sites 4 and 5 between the 15th Street Bridge and Thea’s Landing into a mixed-use project comprising 180 condominiums, commercial and retail space, a parking area and a boutique hotel, according to City of Tacoma records.
The development authority will hold a public hearing at 4 p.m. on April 19 regarding the sale at the Port of Tacoma Business Center, 3600 Port of Tacoma Road. The development board will select the developer at its May 10 meeting. Once a developer is chosen, the board will enter into negotiations for development and the purchase price and terms for the site, Dowie said.
