More Improvements Coming to Sprague Avenue in 2014

Work on Phase 2 of the improvements to the reopened Sprague Avenue entrance to Tacoma will begin next February.

Phase 2 will include landscaping improvements to the west side of the Sprague exit. The residential side of Sprague will be repaved with pervious pavement and a bioswale to improve drainage, and more trees will be planted to increase the tree canopy. Below surface level, the street will get stormwater and sanitary sewer improvements as well.

Work on the Sprague exit landscape plantings is expected to begin in February, with construction on the residential improvements to follow in April. Residents are invited to view the final design plans for the project at a public open house tomorrow, December 4, at Stanley Elementary School. The initial goal of the Sprague Avenue project, which has been in the works for several years now, was to improve the appearance of the Sprague entry point to Tacoma. So, how's it looking?

We sure have enough capital funds to spit money around for in the name of art spheres in downtown Tacoma, stamped pavement, premature trees while tearing up trees downtown. The entire council should be replaced along and every contract audited for fraud waste and abuse
