Motopony on NPR's All Songs Considered
Sitting in the office with my headphones on I wasn’t expecting this …

Motopony, the band fronted by our once-upon-a-time writer and once-upon-a-time Tacoman Daniel Blue, is featured on this week’s All Songs Considered with Bob Boilin and Robin Hilton. Hilton calls it as a great little album and describes Daniel’s emergence from Tacoma. The little discussion after the song is worth a listen.
The Motopony segment begins at 15:23-ish.
Congratulations, Daniel.

no, take that tacoma. motopony distances themselves artistically from you only to NOT EVER EVEN BE A GNAT FART ON PITCHFORK’S RADAR. you got dumped tacoma. like an accessory for a hipsters image. and a cheap one at that. DB got way too much hipster chick poon in the beginning to be a good song writer. he’s got no illness. nothing really bothering him. nothing that would make him wanna install a fucking skylight in his cranium with a double barrel shotgun. and it shows in the song writing. some where born to be dylans and cobains. and some are born as extras. and nothing bites more than getting dumped by a fucking extra.

Caught them on KCRW for a live performance while they were here in Los Angeles.
I really enjoyed the set and it was nice to hear a band mention Tacoma

“No matter how you feel about the infamous Daniel Blue, front man of the formerly Tacoma-based band Motopony, you have to respect his power to manifest.”
hahahahahahaha yeah about as much as we respect palin’s power to manifest! hahahahahaha. someone get this band a king of diamonds bus!! i mean, new york? this is the equivalent of that reality show ‘princess’ anne claire who wanted to be a country and western singer and got flown to nashville. the only thing respectable here is band following their dreams, even if it’s a lame one. motopony just have shitty managers and even shittier producers. and i am saying this like they need one because some bands really do. and a lot of the great one’s had great support. for now, if you ain’t writing singing the truth like only tiny vipers can, with just a voice and guitar, you have no business being in a band, let alone a band on the road.

What if Jim Morrison and The Doors were still active and covered the song “King of Diamonds?”…

@15 survey says the pants video looks like a spoof. only its not. but if it was that clever i would bow down to DB. poor guy just rummaged at bit too much in his mom’s jewelry box growing up and didn’t read enough mad magazine is all. but yeah, B- for effort. A+ for comic relief.

I don’t get the sunglasses or the weird substitute teacher lady that you read about in the paper who has ‘relations’ with 12 year old boys. Is a very strange video. needs those fatboy slim dancers.

i love the pants video. it truly is an ultimate unintentional parody of itself. fucking brilliant to be honest. can’t wait for more of that kermit the frog voiced poser. its like adam ant, mr bean and scott stapp had a four way with a 2011 courtney love or something.

All songs considered, “Seattle” by Perry Como has a dynagroove that “Tacoma” by Daniel Blue can only pretend to have.

all songs considered is a play on all things considered which means despite of. as in, despite the music sucking hard, we’ll play it anyways. AHAHAHAHAHAHA
