Moveable Feast - A Food Truck Festival for Tacoma

Food carts generate a fair amount of excitement in Tacoma, so all you food-cart-lovers out there may want to check out The Moveable Feast food truck festival. The event is the creation of Alyson Jones of the Tacoma Rainiers and cake truck owner Odette D’Aniello of Celebrity Cake Studios.

Ernest Hemingway once said “If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.” We’re convinced that Tacoma is cut from the same cloth and we’re out to prove it!

Join us on Sunday, July 29th, 2012 from Noon – 7pm for The Moveable Feast…Tacoma’s inaugural food truck festival. It’s a celebration of all things street food paired with music, beer, and great company.

We like the idea of food carts in Tacoma, so this sounds like a step in the right direction.

I love the idea of a food cart festival in Tacoma – I definitely plan on trying to make it – maybe it can become an annual event. Maybe next year they can have it downtown in Tollefson, or off 6th Ave, or in some other walkable neighborhood.

“We’re convinced that Tacoma is cut from the same cloth (as Paris) and we’re out to prove it.”

    That’s a good one.

Too bad they put it on the same weekend as the Taste of Tacoma. (I feel stupid calling it that since virtually nothing offered is from Tacoma.) It would have more impact if it stood alone as the food-centered fair that weekend.

The Taste of Tacoma is a month earlier. Also, this is a benefit for the kids at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, come out and help support a good cause!

It’s the same day as Ethnic Fest at Wright Park.

Oops, my mistake on the month, sorry. I will go to that, the taste I will avoid, I don’t care who it benefits.
