Murray Morgan Bridge Opening Update

If you haven’t looked at the Murray Morgan Bridge lately, we hate to be the bearers of disappointing (if not surprising) news, but here goes: the bridge was not ready to open to traffic on its original target date of New Year’s.
Due to inclement weather and additional surprise repairs, the 11th Street bridge now has a new opening date of February 1, just a couple weeks before the scheduled grand opening and 100th anniversary celebration on February 14th. According to the Tacoma Weekly, that ceremony will be quite festive, with a car parade and even fireworks.
