Murray Morgan's Church to go Historic?
Rev. Frances Lorenz and preservationist Marshall McClintock recently completed a nomination application to put the Center for Spiritual Living’s 99-year-old Craftsman style church at North J Street and Division Avenue on the city’s historic register. Murray Morgan’s father, Henry, was the minister there for 40 years. Murray Morgan was married there, and his wife, Rosa, taught Sunday school there. On May 28th, McClintock and Rev. Lorenz will present the nomination to the city’s landmarks preservation commission.

historical value? those two words stretch across a broad chasm around here.

Historical value is more then just old homes, churches, and buildings. Historical value can mean a place where history is made. And, history is made in this location all the time!
In addition, the article speaks of the person who once (for 40 years)spoke to his congregation. Historical value is more then words. Historical value is embracing our past and understanding that without the lessons of yesterday applied, we are all doomed to make the same mistakes.
Yay, for the Center of Spirtual Living for all they do and care about in the community. Grow Local, Be Local, Care Local, Go historical, Go Local!
