The Seattle/Tacoma Fiber Arts Avengers and Tacoma Actors Guild Outreach and Education will come together on December 9, 2006 in a charity Knit – a – Thon held at Tacoma Actors Guild from 9am-6pm.

The Fiber Arts Avengers project brings creative crafters together for a charitable cause. Until this point, the Avengers have worked to sponsor walkers in 3-day events for breast cancer research. On this, their third mission, they’re doing something a little bit different.

Nat is a three and a half year old boy recently diagonsed with an aggressive brain tumor. He’s been called the Professor since he was a newborn, and it suits him well. Proffer is a wonderful kid, he loves nursery rhymes and fairy tales. He loves to dance and sing and from infancy has always been very sure of himself and what he likes in life. More on Nat: /.

Monetary proceeds will benefit Nat and his family during this difficult time. Day-of-event items crafted during the Knit – A – Thon will be donated to the Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital Santa’s Workshop, providing holiday gift resources to the families of children receiving in-patient treatment.

TO REGISTER: Registration is $30 at the door. Fiber Artists bring their own supplies: hat, scarf and/or glove sets are most needed. In-kind prize donations and advertising are greatly appreciated. To register, please send your name, address, email, daytime phone to thefreelancemama@.... Donate to the family here: http://www.curlypurly.com/profdonations.html and forward your receipt to thefreelancemama@... with your name and “registration fee” in the subject. Day of event registrations will be accepted via cash or check.

Hand-knit items can also be mailed directly to Santa’s Workshop prior to December 18th, 2006.
