Nationally Recognized Artist comes to Tacoma for National Poetry Month
Here’s an event that some friends of ours are getting excited about – and we think it looks pretty cool too:

Anis Mojgani is one of only two people to win multiple National Poetry Slam Championships. He has been an HBO Def poet, a feature on NPR, a TEDx speaker, and an International Slam Poetry champion. On April 18th, he’ll be appearing in Tacoma at an event celebrating National Poetry Month. In addition to musical guests, he’ll be joined on stage by Tacoma-native poet Faith Stevens as well as Seattle’s Karen Finneyfrock and L.A.‘s Jeremy Radin.
Not familiar with Anis Mojgani? Here’s why we’re so excited:
Also taking the stage is Kye Alfred Hillig, a Tacoma musician with nearly two decades of songwriting under his belt. Hillig debuted his first solo album, ‘Aurora’, in April 2012. In February, he showed versatility and depth with his sophomore release ‘Together Through It All.’ He has been declared a “favorite local artist” by online magazine Post Defiance. Hillig will be joined by Emily Ann Peterson, vocalist and cellist for Tacoma’s Goldfinch.
