It must correspond with this year’s Northern Pacific Railroad Historical Society convention being held in Tacoma at the Hotel Murano, July 16’th-19’th. Sorry, you have to be a society member to purchase tickets, but there might be some residual activities that the general public can attend.

The theme is “Jim Fredrickson Country”; a life long Tacoman (lives in Proctor) and career Northern Pacific Railroad telegraher. His photo collection (from Tacoma and the northwest, starting in the 40’s)numbers in the tens of thousands; and did you know he has an old Tacoma Union Station sign (just like the two that are currently there) in his backyard!
