Ninth St Improvement Project: Public Meeting Tomorrow

This summer, starting in August and lasting until October, the stretch of S 9th between Broadway and Market will undergo a reconstruction and repair project to enhance pedestrian safety and improve the streets and streetscape (see here for more info )

If you have questions or concerns about the project and the impact it might have on your business, your customers or your home, the Downtown Merchants group, LeRoy Jewelers and The Art Stop will host a one-hour Q&A session with Dan Seabrands from the City’s Public Works division on Wednesday, June 29th, from 6 – 7 PM at LeRoy 940 Broadway. Dan will have updated timelines for the project along with details on the work to be done. This is the time to get you questions answered. If you have ideas for ways to mitigate the impact (fun signage? detour routes that make sense to strangers?), this is the time to share them.

I hope they do not try to remove the parking from the street like the first attempt at the Pacific Avenue renovations would have.

Right, because the world needs to make life easier for cars and it’s soooo hard to park in Tacoma.

Parking to be replaced with bike lanes? That would be sweet.

This summer and lasting until October, proud Councilmen and representatives of the City of Tacoma, in order to enhance pedestrian safety and improve the streets and streetscape, are proclaiming the stretch of South 9th St. between Broadway and Market St., “Flamboyant Way.”
