Nonprofit Center Closes Its Doors
The Nonprofit Center will be closing its doors after 12 years of service to Tacoma and South Puget Sound nonprofits. The Center, with a mission of “strengthening nonprofits for a better community,” has provided skills and resources to support many of the nonprofit organizations that in turn strengthen Tacoma. Recently the organization has experienced a number of changes and challenges, culminating in this closure.
To echo the sentiments we’ve heard from a variety of voices around town, it’s really sad to see the closing of this institution, and we hope it won’t be for good. The Nonprofit Center board has left open the possibility of re-building if the right offer of fresh energy and leadership comes along, or closing and helping with the start-up of a new agency to fill the void the closure leaves…
