Northwest Barista Showdown Starts Now!
Today is a day for coffee. Lots of coffee. The Temple Theater is hosting this year’s Northwest Regional Barista Competition and it starts now. Coffee industry geeks and superstar shot masters will be in Tacoma to show off their skills and compete for a spot in the US Barista Championship.
Round one begins at 11:00. Representing Satellite Coffee (and Tacoma) is Zachary Marvick. He’s competitor #12 today and will be performing at 1:50 pm.

We stopped by the Barista Showdown today just in time to watch a barista perform from Albina Press. Paul’s girls go to school in Portland and that’s their favorite hangout. We’re thinking of going tomorrow for the finals — should be fun!
