Farm to Table Soup Event at the Proctor Farmers’ market

The Proctor Farmers’ Market is sticking it out in the cold to bring us fresh, seasonal produce, eggs, meat, cheeses and more.  Not only that, they’ve got programming to keep the market bustling. Aside from the live music we count on for atmosphere, this weekend local chefs will prepare soups from local, seasonal ingredients from local farmers.  Babblin’ Babs, Capers, and Alina Soups will offer soups to warm your insides while you shop.  The event is a fundraiser for the Proctor Farmers’ Market, promoting collaboration between Tacoma restaurants and local farmers.  We can’t wait.

When:  Saturday, November 12th, 10:30 – 2:30
Where:  Proctor Farmers’ Market, North 27th and Proctor

Fair Trade Market

Next weekend (November 18, 19, and 20) Urban Grace and St. Leo’s will co-host a fair trade market at St. Leo’s Parish on Yakima.  The market will give shoppers the opportunity to put their money where their mouths are to support global justice and fair trade on a global scale.  This is a chance to say no to corporations, to the top one percent, to crowded malls and all the other things that can take the shine off the humanity and giving spirit of the holidays.  This is a chance to support, if not the bottom one percent, at least the bottom some percent, by buying gifts for the holiday season from local and global fair-trade oriented organizations.

Details available on the Urban Grace events page.
