Festival of the Trees Ladies Night Out
The Mary Bridge Festival of the Trees is one of the bigger fundraising events in Tacoma, and something of a holiday institution. This year the Festival will celebrate its 25th year of fundraising for Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. The Festival of the Trees now spans four days, and offers a variety of opportunities to see the fabulously decorated trees that give the event its wow factor, and to donate to the cause that gives it its heart. Tickets are on sale now for all three of the big events. Tickets for Ladies Night Out, “A night of beverages, savory and sweet treats, shopping, and fun while strolling amongst an amazing display of decorated trees,” are available at lower early purchase prices through November 18th.

Ezell’s Famous Chicken – 3rd Time’s the Charm?
An Ezell’s Famous Chicken is due to open in Tacoma. Again. We remember Ezell’s from their short stint on 6th Avenue in the problematic corner space across from Gateway to India. The new location will be in Hilltop, near St. Joe’s, and promises to open this week. We never got the chance to eat at Ezell’s in it’s previous incarnations, but the web reviews of the chicken are generally favorable. What really seems to stand out, however, are the rolls. Who knew. Well, maybe the third time’s the charm for Ezell’s in Tacoma.
