Daily Dim Sum - Friday, November 25, 2011

It’s a light news week, so we just have a couple holiday updates for your Black/Plaid/whatever Friday:

Drink Local, Drink Tacoma

Coming up on December 1st at 6:00 p.m. is an opportunity to support local businesses, and a local non-profit by drinking. Sounds good to us.

Local beverage crafters 21 Cellars and Wingman Brewers are coming together for an event on December 1st at The Swiss called Drink Local, Drink Tacoma! Wingman Brewers has aged their Strong Winter Ale in a 21 Cellars’ Pont 21 oak barrel, which will be available to taste along with a taste of Pont 21 Cabernet Sauvignon for a suggested donation of $3. The proceeds of this taste go to REACH Ministries in support of World AIDS Day.

There will be event t-shirts available, printed by T-Town Apparel, raffle tickets on sale for great prizes, and glasses of 21 Cellars’ and Wingman Brewers’ delicious local libations. Live music by local acoustic artists will start at 6pm. Family Friendly until 8pm!

Celebrate drinking local!

We just might have to take them up on that. For event details and information on what they do, visit www.reachministries.org,, or find the event on Facebook.

Festival of the Trees Update

It’s looking like the 25th year of the Mary Bridge Festival of the Trees, is going to be a good one; they’ve already sold out for next Thursday’s Ladies Night Out, and the pictures of beautiful wreaths on their Facebook page are getting us excited to see the trees. It’s always a spectacular event, and you can still get tickets to the Gala Auction and Dinner on December 2, and the Jingle Bell Jam on December 3. Visit the Festival of the Trees website for details and tickets.
