I just saw this while having lunch at Vinum. Great sign!

I can’t even get him to give me the time of day…

JayRay (our homegrown ad agency) totally rocks! And special thanks to Steph Farber.

I wonder if JayRay contemplated the ominous aspects of this marketing piece (when russel starts laying off employees in 2009 yo).

in there a suicide capsule hidden in that gem?

    Love. It.

LeRoy’s ads by JayRay have become one of Tacoma’s best holiday traditions. Perhaps someone can dredge up the full compilation? Wasn’t there one a few years ago that created some controversy?

    Squid-

I believe it was something along the lines of “now they will look at your face” regarding a pair of diamond earrings.

it was more hardcore than that. “tired of men staring at your titties” or something. One billboard was vandalized, but it was probably an inside job to generate media attention.

Yeah man, those original ads were harsh. Remember this one? “Is yo woman so ugly she gotta tie a pork chop aroun’ her neck to get the dog to play wit her?” “Give LeRoy a holla!”

you can find more of the classic LeRoy billboards at:

    Cutting edge stuff, no question.

Kudos to LeRoy and JayRay – but what does it say about Tacoma that it has a freestanding billboard on Pacific Avenue and 10th Street?

Maybe it’s just me, but the “Same Sacks Marriage” billboard was a little creepy. Perhaps I’m overthinking it though.

LeRoy and JayRay are a fantastic, clever, outrageous team. Keep them coming, please. Steph Farber is an incredible talent that Tacoma should be proud of…..home grown artist that he is!

Jay Ray/LeRoy is way better at targeting the Tacoma consumer than say…Jamba with their prominent billboards on Jefferson that tell “Seattle” to “fruit up” or something like that.

Seattle…they think Tacoma is Seattle. Great marketing. I’m not buying my kids anything at Jamba Juice. I’ll take to Blackwater for coffee.
