On the Market: A Little Big City Style Apartment Consolidation

We have this habit of reading New York City real estate blogs and the New York Times House & Home section more than we’d like to admit. One thing we seem to see all the time that we’ve attributed to those crazy big city types is the buying of multiple condos and merging them together to for mega condos. Well, if you’re in the market, a condo just came on the market that is the combination of two apartments.

When this building first went condo we were skeptical. At the time it seemed to be on the wrong side of Wright Park, the building was kinda plain when compared with some of the other classic apartment buildings in the area, and… we were just feeling cynical that year. Over time these places have grown on me. Partially because of my love of old buildings, but also because the area has grown better, I’ve learned to appreciate the Hob Nob (right next door!), and as Tacoma kept getting more and more luxury (read expensive) condos, this one seemed reasonable.

The unit that just came on the market is a combination of two units. That would mean 1700+ square feet of vintage apartment glory right next to some mighty fine eggs benedict and across the street from the Tacoma Lawn Bowling Club. Get out those dress whites and let’s play some ball. It sounds mighty fine to me.

Listed with Windermere for $350k

This sign approval sounds like a no-brainer but I wish I could have vetoed their architect.
