On the Market: Our Favorite Stadium Way Cottage

Every once in a while we’d see a little gray-haired woman working the garden in front of this house.  We’d wave.  She’d look up.  That was it.  This happened for a couple years.  Then, earlier this year, early on a saturday morning, we decided to check out an estate sale on Stadium Way and found ourselves on the front step of this little house.  It seemed a bit voyeuristic.  After a few years of passing by we were now going in the front door.

We have a thing for small houses and this place just seemed like a nice place.  It’s a relatively small cottage in a neighborhood of grand homes and great views.  The house next door is much larger and on the market for $1.45 million.  This house seemed understated and perfect.

Our fear, as we realized that this house would eventually hit the market, was that it would be treated as a teardown.  The house is small and a little funky… but it’s on a great lot and even the garage has a view.  We love it.  Hopefully whoever picks it up will love it too.

I think we bought some candles at the estate sale.

Listed with John L. Scott at $639k
