Operation Homecoming This Saturday
The Broadway Center is hosting Operation Homecoming, Saturday March 15 at the Theatre on the Square. This event isn’t about being for or against the war. It’s intended to move beyond the headlines and politics to highlight the human experience of our soldiers and their families.
The event will consist of:
- Stories about service in Iraq and Afghanistan by those in military service and their families, in performance taken from the nationally acclaimed book by the same name
- New stories drawn from local men, women and family members who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan
- A panel question and answer with the audience.
It’s designed to gain empathy and understanding for those who have served and sacrificed in the current conflicts.

If the event is not about being for or against the war, maybe they should change the name to something other than “Operation Homecoming”.

A 10% discount seems pretty shabby for “those who have served and sacrificed in the current conflicts.” That hardly gets you a cup of coffee at Tully’s. How sad is this?

I find it interesting that this was planned the same weekend as Winter Soldier in DC……..
