Opportunity to Serve on the Citizen Review Panel

The City is accepting applications for a position on the Citizen Review Panel, which advises the City Council on matters relating to Tacoma Police Department policy. The goal of the panel is to ensure transparency and accountability in Tacoma Police operations, with a focus on policy. The panel meets monthly to review police policy at the request of City Council or the City Manager, review complaints by members of the public, and provide advice to the City Manager, Council, and Chief of Police on Police policy. The Panel also provides community outreach and education through public hearings and other efforts.

Applications now being accepted are for a position with a term ending in December of this year. Normal terms on the seven member board last three years. Applicants should be residents of the City of Tacoma, and may not be current members of the Tacoma Police Department or immediate family members of TPD members.
