Pacific NW Kilted 5K on June 1st

So maybe the Tacoma marathon was a bit too much work for you. Maybe you prefer the company of men (or women) in skirts…

If so, on Sunday, June 1st, there’s a kilted 5k walk through downtown Tacoma.

100% of the funds raised will be sent to Friends of Kilfinan Parish Church for use in the Lamont Clan burial vault restoration project. This 13th century church of
St Finan located on the Cowal peninsula on west coast of Scotland has some of the best preserved ancient burial stones in western Scotland. This is a 1st time
event for the entire family where you can proudly wear your kilt.

    Please, no utilikilts!

While this may be as worthy a fundraiser as most, I suspect the China earthquake and the Myanmar cyclone disasters will take precedent for most charitable dollars in the coming days…

As one of the organizers of the kilt walk, I hope that people can wear their tartan kilts. If you don’t have one, dress comfortable in some sort of Scottish attire.

Rick points out that the recent tragedies should be in the front our minds, and I agree they are definately of far more importance & immediate need.

Our event is aimed at getting some Scots together for some fun, pride in our Scottish heritage plus raise some funds for a worthy historical cause.

Join us on June 1st, if you can’t walk that far, help keep the seats warm for our return. Plans include having some pipers at the event

Awesome! I’ve been looking for a chance to socialize with other kilted people, and I get to help a worthy cause at the same time. I’ll be there and I’ll be kilted.
