Paid On-Street Parking Begins Monday

Put your wallets away – for a few more days, at least.

Paid on-street parking doesn’t kick off until Monday, Sept. 20, but our roving downtown street team has spied a number of hapless parkers struggling with the new pay stations already.

In fact, colleagues and acquaintances of said street team have been among the confused patrons attempting to stuff the pay stations with credit cards and coins. But fear not – the machines will happily accept your payment beginning Monday. See previous Exit133 coverage here.

In the meantime, tomorrow is Tacoma PARK Day. Parking spaces throughout downtown will be turned into temporary parks filled with art, plants, music and more. Read more at here.
