Pantages Set for Remodel
The Pantages is getting ready for some change. The city council last night approved a contract to begin what will eventually be a $5.1 million remodel. From the TNT story:
Skylights will be added. Restrooms will be enlarged and redone. Elevator access to restrooms will be added for people with limited mobility. A grand staircase will be built. Concession stands, a permanent box office and other audience-friendly amenities will complete the package.
All are designed to make a night out more pleasurable for 21st century audiences in an 88-year-old theater dating to the glory days of the stage in America.
It was obvious that the theater needed some work, but I didn’t realize it was a priority. Maybe I’m just out of touch.
