Peterson Bros & X Group Set to Open The Valley

We've been hearing some buzz lately about a new bar down on Puyallup Avenue - actually new ownership, and a new life for a long-time Tacoma bar. And now this, from the Peterson Bros. 1111 Facebook page yesterday:

Rumor has it The Valley is opening up tomorrow at 3:00 pm.

The Valley Pub has been around for a long time - since 1926 if the new logo is correct. Most recently it was Red's Valley Pub, named for Red of Hank's/The Corner Bar and The Swiss.

Now the little dive bar at 1206 Puyallup Avenue has changed hands again, this time to a partnership of the Peterson brothers, who you may know from Peterson Bros. 1111 in Hilltop, and X Group, owners of Asado, Masa, and E9.

They plan to keep The Valley name, and to keep the concept simple; "Great Subs, Cold Beer and Spirits," according to the new Valley Pub Facebook page. Considering the names attached to the project, we're guessing those subs will be exceptional; and the beer and cocktail lineup will be quality, as well as cold.

We're looking forward to finding out.
